Every Lindo Acoustic Guitar Is Set Up By Hand Before It Reaches You
When you order a Lindo acoustic guitar, it doesn't come straight off a production line and into a box. Before any instrument leaves us, it goes through a thorough setup process carried out by hand because we know that how a guitar plays straight out of the case matters. Here's exactly what we do.

Relief
The first thing we check is the neck relief. The subtle forward bow that allows the strings to vibrate freely without buzzing against the frets. Using a straight edge and feeler gauges, we adjust the truss rod to dial in the correct amount of relief for that specific instrument. Too much and the action becomes unplayably high; too little and you’ll get fret buzz all the way up the neck. Getting this right is the foundation everything else builds on.
Nut
With the neck sorted, we move to the nut. Each slot is checked for depth and width to make sure the strings sit at the correct height and aren’t binding. Slots that are too shallow force the action up at the lower frets and make open chords feel harder to play than they should. Slots that are too deep cause buzzing and tuning instability. We file each one individually until the fit is spot on.
Saddle
Next we turn our attention to the saddle. This is the main control point for action at the upper end of the neck, and it has a big influence on playability and tone. We shape and sand the saddle to achieve an action height that’s comfortable across the whole fretboard, low enough to play easily, but with enough height to let the guitar breathe and project properly.
Frets
Before the strings go on, every fret gets a thorough polish. Even on a brand new guitar, frets can carry fine machining residue and light surface dulling from the manufacturing process. Polishing them ensures a smooth, consistent surface across the whole neck, one that feels refined under the fingers and allows clean movement when bending or shifting position.
Fretboard Treatment
Depending on the model, Lindo acoustic guitars feature either a composite or laurel fretboard – both chosen for their durability and stability. Whichever the instrument has, we clean and condition the surface at this stage to make sure it’s fresh and smooth, and to help it stay consistent through transit and any changes in temperature or humidity.
Body Polish
With the neck and fretboard done, we give the body a full polish to make sure the finish is clean, even, and looking its best before it’s packed.
Stringing Up and Action Check
The guitar is then strung up with a fresh set of strings and we carry out a full action check – measuring at both the first and twelfth frets to confirm everything is sitting where it should be. At this stage we’ll revisit relief, nut, and saddle if anything needs a final tweak now that the strings are under tension. It’s a complete second pass to make sure all the earlier work holds up under real playing conditions.
Electronics Check
For acoustic-electric models, the final step is a full electronics check. We test the preamp, run through the EQ controls, check the built-in tuner where fitted, and confirm the output signal is clean, we make sure every function is working exactly as it should before the guitar is packed.
The Result
Every Lindo acoustic guitar that arrives with you has been played, adjusted, and checked by a real person. What you take out of the box should be ready to play – and if it’s not, we want to hear about it.
