Engraved Electric Guitar Concept: Part 2
Part 2 of the engraved electric guitar concept explores a walnut drop top over ash, with a traditional Celtic Tree of Life carving and a natural wood finish. Inlays, bronze-effect hardware and possible headstock engraving remain under consideration.

A layered body takes shape
This second update moves the engraved electric guitar concept from line drawing towards a visual render. The mock-up pairs a walnut drop top with an ash back and body. A carved edge reveals the two wood layers and shows how they meet around the body. The engraving remains part of the design study, now considered alongside the grain and contrast of the natural woods.
Inlays and hardware under consideration
The fretboard inlays are shown as mother-of-pearl in this render. We are also considering figured maple and abalone, each of which would bring a different colour and texture to the design. The final inlay material has not been chosen.
For the hardware, the current direction uses a bronze finish with an antique effect. This warmer tone works with the walnut and ash in the mock-up. We are still reviewing the details as the concept develops.
Matching the headstock
The headstock uses a walnut veneer to match the body. We may extend the engraved artwork to the headstock too, so it feels connected to the main design. That detail is still an option rather than a final decision.
This render carries forward the Celtic-inspired fantasy artwork from our first design study, including the dragon and phoenix motifs. It also nods to early Lindo guitar concepts that explored similar storytelling. Alongside the artwork, we can now compare the walnut drop top, ash body, inlay options and bronze-effect hardware as one complete design. We will refine the combination before settling on a final specification.
The engraved electric guitar remains a design concept, so the wood treatment and decorative details can still change. This render helps us compare the carved walnut top, ash body and Celtic artwork before a final build specification is set.
