Lindo Kawa V2: A New River of Colour

The Kawa V2 keeps the original’s Japanese river concept, bold pink and purple hues, familiar body shape and fretboard inlays, with a newly developed landscape illustration. A latest composite neck with dual carbon fibre support rods is planned, alongside premium hardware and pickups.

The original Lindo Kawa paired a compact 28.6-inch-scale travel bass with Japanese river-inspired artwork. The Lindo Kawa V2 keeps the familiar shape and design character while refreshing the artwork and planned specification. See the original Kawa design on its product page.

Lindo Kawa V2: Same river, new artwork

The Japanese river concept and bold pink and purple hues remain at the heart of the design. For the Kawa V2, we have reworked the scene as a more immersive mountain river landscape. Vivid turquoise water winds between dark rocks and a forest of bright pink leaves, then flows across the bass and onto the headstock. The portrait artwork draws the eye from the distant mountains down the valley to the river in the foreground. This gives the instrument a stronger sense of depth and movement while keeping the original palette and Japanese setting.

The Lindo Kawa V2 retains the distinctive body shape and fretboard inlays from the original. The new artwork gives those familiar details a fresh setting, with the river providing a strong visual line through the instrument.

Updates beneath the artwork

The Kawa V2 will also bring changes beneath the artwork. We plan to use Lindo’s latest composite neck, with two carbon fibre support rods running through it. We are also planning premium hardware and pickups for the new version. These upgrades build on the original travel bass’s compact 28.6-inch scale and distinctive shape. We are still developing the specification, so final hardware and pickup details may change as the design moves forward. The goal is a more refined instrument that keeps the Kawa portable and comfortable to play, while pairing its updated landscape artwork with a stronger neck and carefully chosen components.
