Mizumi V2: Almost Six Months in the Making
After almost six months of refinement, Mizumi V2 is taking its final shape. A closer look at the artwork, construction and small details behind the next Mizumi, as we work towards a hoped-for arrival in January 2027.

Seeing a row of unfinished Mizumi bodies feels different from looking at a drawing. The teal edges are there, the necks are taking shape, and details that once lived on a specification sheet are becoming part of an instrument.
After almost six months of refinement, Mizumi V2 is taking its final shape. In our first V2 update, we shared the direction for the next Mizumi. These latest photographs show that story moving into the build.
Two sides of the same story
The Japanese-inspired artwork is central to Mizumi V2. Across the front, mountains, flowing water, architecture and flowers form a landscape in teal, cream and soft pink. Turn the guitar over and the scene changes to an illustrated figure surrounded by floral details. Each side has its own composition, connected by the same colours and flowing lines.
The spruce top gives the front artwork its canvas. A side soundport leaves that illustrated face uninterrupted, while teal quilted-maple veneer and figured maple binding carry the design around the instrument. The teal fingerboard and matching bridge bring the colour through to the playing side, too.
Details for the player
Some of the most important decisions are less visible in a photograph. The C-profile composite neck combines a dual-action truss rod with two additional carbon-fibre reinforcement rods. That construction is intended to support neck stability while retaining the adjustment needed for setup.
Rounded stainless-steel frets and luminous side position markers are part of the specification, alongside a bone nut and saddle. Brass bridge pins with abalone centres, maple and abalone fingerboard inlays, and petrol-finish tuning machines add smaller details to discover up close.
A closer look inside
The build photographs let us share stages that are usually hidden by the finished instrument: pale wood before the artwork, the side soundport from close range, and the internal construction carrying the Mizumi name.
Hollow bracing is part of that internal design. Alongside the reinforced neck and the finishing details, it is one of the elements behind the appearance of V2. We want the care in the construction to sit comfortably alongside the visual character that makes a Mizumi recognisable.
Looking towards January
We are hoping to introduce Mizumi V2 in January 2027. That is the arrival we are working towards as the build progresses, and we will share a firmer date when we can.
It has taken patience to reach this point. Seeing the design become a guitar makes us all the more excited to share the finished Mizumi V2 with you.
