The Ryokou brings a sense of travel to everyday playing. Its 3/4-size body and 23-inch scale bring a compact electro-acoustic format to a richly illustrated instrument, with Japanese-inspired landscapes flowing from the body to the headstock.
Choose the steel-string version with 11–52 phosphor bronze strings, or the nylon-string version, to begin your own story. Both bring the Ryokou’s distinctive artwork, glow-in-the-dark side markers and BS3M pickup-and-microphone system into the same portable design.
01 · A landscape to carry
The journey begins
with a closer look.
Across the front and back, purple foliage, water and mountain scenery give the Ryokou its recognisable character. Designed in Bristol, the Ryokou carries Japanese-inspired artwork through the body and onto a matching headstock, taking the visual story to the very end of the neck.
A purple maple fretboard and bridge sit within the scene, while the natural wood of the sides and binding provides a quieter border around the colour.
02 · Written into the fretboard
A story beneath
your fingers.
The fretboard pairs the colour of maple with Japanese kanji representing the Five Elements. At the 12th fret, a maple and abalone seashell inlay forms the “Harmony” symbol, a focal point within the sequence of markings.
These details sit alongside 20 frets and a 43 mm bone nut. They are part of the instrument’s everyday playing surface, ready to become familiar each time you pick it up.
03 · A considered neck
Colour in the construction.
The C-shaped composite neck has a layered appearance that becomes especially clear around the heel. Together with the purple maple fretboard, it gives the Ryokou a distinctive identity even where the painted landscape gives way to the instrument’s construction.
04 · A guide in low light
Small points of light.
Luminlay glow-in-the-dark side dots mark the edge of the fretboard. Positioned where you can see them from a playing position, they offer a clear visual reference when the surrounding light falls.
05 · The compact acoustic
Travel proportions.
Thoughtful detail.
A laminated spruce top sits over sapele back and sides, with a solid maple bridge, bone nut and compensated bone saddle. The cutaway body gives the outline its distinctive shape, framing the artwork without interrupting the view along the neck.
Baked maple binding traces the body and fretboard’s edge. On the bridge, abalone seashell dots in the pins add another small connection to the fretboard inlay.
A 23-inch scale and 92.5 cm overall length make the travel format easy to understand before you decide where it will fit into your playing life.
06 · Look inside
Beyond the artwork.
The hollow bracing can be seen through the soundhole, adding another construction detail to explore. Here, the close-up also brings the purple maple fretboard and the illustrated top into view, showing how the decorative and structural parts of the Ryokou meet.
07 · From front to back
The final detail is still part of the story.
The colour-matched headstock continues the body artwork, with the Lindo name above the nut. Turn it over to see the composite neck detail, chrome die-cast machine heads and 20th Anniversary emblem.
The machine heads have a 19:1 ratio, with a chrome finish that sits neatly against the dark back of the headstock.
08 · Connect your playing
Two sources.
One set of controls.
The BS3M system combines an undersaddle piezoelectric pickup with a soundhole microphone, giving you a blend of the two sources. Bass, middle and treble controls sit alongside volume, a phase button and a notch filter.
A built-in chromatic tuner keeps tuning close at hand. The output module provides both a 1/4-inch jack and XLR connection for an amplifier, PA, mixing desk or audio interface.

10 · Ready for a first meeting
The setup matters too.
Before dispatch, the Ryokou receives a full UK setup. The checks cover the guitar’s cosmetics and preamp, neck relief, nut height and action, followed by fret polishing, fretboard treatment, tuning, playability and final checks.
It is part of the preparation behind the first time you pick it up and settle in to play.
