The Lindo Slim SE – Designed in Bristol, U.K, by Lindo Guitars

The Lindo Slim SE pushes the slim guitar concept even further through design and materials. Inspiration comes from Mother Nature and her inner beauty, highlighting the many faces she possesses.

Tonewoods and Shape

The “ultimate ergonomic guitar” with a modern cutaway body shape for ultra player comfort and style. The back and sides are zebrawood. This offers a full all-round sound but projects the mid-range most prominently.

Zebrawood, with its flat-sawn grain, gives a striking three-dimensional appearance. The top is also a flatsawn bookmatched figured ash and the figuring is incredibly unique. By taming the projection of the mids, it works to compliment the zebrawood.  Also adding its own element of “air” to the sound. The neck is mahogany and has a solid walnut fretboard. This combination mellows the sound and adds warmth to the mid-range. A perfect coupling with the body.

Features and Benefits

As well being perfectly fitted to the player, the Lindo Slim SE body depth of just 75mm.  Makes this the perfect guitar for gigging and touring.

The BS5M preamp with piezo/mic blend system gives you the option to blend the sound from the under-saddle pickup with the sound from the microphone in the body. This is perfect for a slim body guitar as the mic enhances all the low-end warmth, whilst you can retain the clarity of notes from the piezo.

The preamp also has a 5-band EQ which means you have control of the bass, low middle, high middle, treble, presence and master volume. The tuner is chromatic and is displayed on a backlit LCD with LED indicators, so as well as being able to easily shape your sound, you can check the guitars tuning wherever you are and in any lighting conditions.

The added notch filter control allows you to cut frequencies within a range of 100-500 Hz.

Don’t Be Phased

The ‘phase’ button is exceptionally handy, as it can help to reduce feedback by synchronising the guitar’s sound wave with the amplifier’s sound wave. Often, the natural sound wave produced by the acoustic guitar can be out of phase with that of the amplifier. You will hear the difference because an ‘out of phase’ tone will sound tinny and unbalanced, where as an ‘in phase’ tone will be fuller and warmer.

The Lindo Slim SE has a dual output using either a jack lead or balanced XLR for plugging into an amplifier, mixing desks or an audio interface. There is also the feature of the double output using either a jack lead or balanced XLR for plugging into mixing desks or audio interfaces.

  1. Mr Moore

Excellent quality, and well designed and set up instrument.
I worried about how wise I was buying a guitar online but all fears were put to rest after my first strum.

Gives a quality sound which is slightly quieter than a full depth guitar. It’s perfect for practice in my flat. If I want louder I’ll grab an amp. Nice full tone that is very nice for acoustic fingerpicking.
Built In Tuner is very handy and the display is very clear.

I was quite surprised with the appearance, guys at lindo mentioned that the quartersawn zebra wood gives very unique patterns (they kindly offered to return mine) I love the finish. There is a 3d appearance that the pics don’t do justice to.

This is a solid musical instrument and punches well above its weight. I’m an intermediate player but in a wider family of fussy musicians that were all impressed with this wee lindo, how it feels and how it sounds.

Dont worry yourself daft like I did. Your not taking a risk buying with lindoguitars, they must have a pretty good quality control at the shop door because the action and nut set up on mine was perfect.
Also I got the feeling (and saw reviews) that they take post sale customer care very seriously.

  2. Wayne O’ Boogie

I love this guitar, I own many other, often more expensive acoustics and this one is the most comfortable and light ( in weight). The sound compares favourably to them, both amplified and not and I have to ask why is a £1000 pound guitar selling for only£350? There is a choice of piezoelectric p/u and mic or a mix so any sound is possible fitting any playing style. Snap one up quickly as I suspect they won’t be this price for long. I got mine from the shop in Bristol and the service there there was second to none, l was playing it for ages and couldn’t put it down so I had to have one. Thanks for putting up with me as I can be very discerning!

  3. Sonny Manou

I love this guitar. It sounds great and it looks stunning. I always use it “plugged in. The versatility of the preamp in combination with the blend system makes makes tweaking the tone of this instrument very easy. No need to keep running back to the mixing desk to tweak the sound – or deal with feedback either, because the notch filter is very effective. About that: it was difficult to get the microphones in this guitar to cause feedback. I had to get very close to the speaker to make it happen and then the notch filter dealt with it admirably.

The slim form factor of the body makes it a pleasure to play. I’m coming from playing electric guitars, which I only took up after struggling with the usual average thickness of an acoustic. This guitar is a pleasure to play. Get one, you won’t regret it.

I have owned many many acoustic and electric guitars – – Fender, Gibson, Takamine, Epiphone etc etc… but I really fancied the look of the Lindo slim Se. I have to admit I wasn’t sure about it — until it arrived!

    What a truly magnificent guitar!

I can find no fault (other than the action was a little high for my liking) – great looks, great tone, great “feel” – simply great all round!

I seriously recommend this to anyone who wants a fantastic instrument that is massively under priced for the quality that it is!

Oh – another thing – buying a guitar “mail-order” was a new experience for me – it arrived 2 days after my order – in pristine condition, well packed and totally protected – not a risk at all!

    Thank you Lindo

    This is a superb guitar!

  5. James Magee

This guitar is great to look at, fantastic to play lovely tone, smashing electro sounds I don’t know how you make a profit at this low price. Will recommend your site to my friends. Thank you.

  6. DavidL

Extremely good guitar, both in the way it has been made and (of course!) its sound. It is lovely to have to two pickups. Which really is unusual and adds the variety of tones.

My only (slightly) negative comment is that I found the bridge made the action much too high.

I adjusted the truss rod, but that didn’t lower the action to the level I wanted it should be, so I bought a lower bridge.

With this the guitar sounds and plays; which is very important, very well. I just hope that my relatively slight adjustment of the truss rod doesn’t cause anything negative to happen over time.

I am really pleased with it.

  7. Amazon Customer

It’s one of the best guitars I’ve played. Not only does it sound great when plugged, it has an incredible feel and it’s slim body is beautifully carved. I would recommend to anyone.

  8. Hannah

I’m a level 2 music performance student and I use this guitar all the time! Deffo the Best Buy I’ve ever brought, the acoustics sound amazing and is very professional, i would recommend this guitar to anyone!!

  9. Nigel Smith

I purchased the Slim SE with the added feature of a built in mic, and blend control… Awesome sound.
The SE looks as good as it sounds too! The unusual, lovely, natural zebra-wood, and Abelone seashell inlay, look really classy.
Quality machine heads, and the built in chromatic tuner make tuning a doddle, not that it needs it very often!
My guitar playing has never sounded so good!

    Excellent value for money.

  10. Amazon Customer

Great acoustics! Lovely sound from the top 2 strings. Very pleased with my purchase.
