Lindo Saturn – All is Bright Summer Delight!
Blood, sweat and tears - it's finally here and we are pleased, to say the least!
Creating the Lindo Saturn was as challenging as it was fun. First and foremost, we knew we wanted to use our signature composite material – but how to show it off?! The idea of a ‘pebble’ shape guitar was on my mind for some time but I didn’t want it to be a copy of anything already out there. Due to the unique layering, the pebble was the perfect shape for this guitar concept. The more the layers are carved, the more beauty is revealed. Plus it’s a more sustainable material than solid wood, so win win!
The main challenge, aside from the pure cost of material, was ensuring the concept could be realised in 3D form and not just on a computer. And that it also didn’t weigh a ridiculous amount when it was built. Composite wood can be extremely dense – which means it is, in turn, heavy. There’s a limit to how heavy you want a guitar can be.
I’m pleased to say that after prototyping and working closely with our manufacturing team, we achieved our goal. This has to be one of the best sounding electric guitars we’ve ever built. And hopefully you agree it looks the part too. Cheers – Simon (Creative Director).
