The Lindo Feeling Electro Acoustic Guitar – Design and Concept

Designed in-house at Lindo Guitars in Bristol, UK, the Lindo Feeling is mainly a sapele wood construction. Sapele gives this guitar its gorgeous characteristic tones and style. As well as the beautiful wood grain figuring, look closer and you’ll find the decorative laser-engraved body flame detail. The open-pore satin finish is a pleasure to experience and was specifically chosen to give this guitar plenty of “air”.

What a Feeling

The body of the guitar is an all sapele construction which, combined with the nato neck, produces a well-balanced depth of sound. The Lindo Feeling responds very well to fingerstyle techniques and strummed chords. The Venetian cutaway gives players full use of the 20 fret neck and keeps the body nice and light.

The contrasting white detailing of the body and neck binding and the bridge and fretboard inlays marries the whole design together. The bone nut and saddle also continue this theme as well as producing excellent string tone and accurate intonation.

Feels Natural

The headstock has a sapele veneer which displays the classic Lindo metallic laser-cut logo. To compliment the headstock logo, you’ll find the smooth-action chrome machine heads. The black walnut fretboard has elliptical inlays which make this design a real eye-catcher.

The action on the Lindo Feeling is setup to be light and low (around 2.5mm at 12th fret). This allows you to hold chords down and play faster up and down the neck. The C-shape neck profile is extremely user-friendly for both strumming accompaniment and serious fingerstyle players.

Feeling Electric?

The Lindo Feeling plays and sounds like a great acoustic guitar but has the added benefit of an integrated preamplifier. The TOPS-4T preamp unit includes a tuner display on the backlit LCD. There are LED indicators to show whether the string note is sharp, flat on in-tune. The piezoelectric pickup under the bridge saddle provides a direct source to an amplifier or audio interface via the jack or XLR output.

EQ and explore

The preamp also includes an equalizer with bass, middle, treble and presence control sliders. These can be adjusted within a range of +/- 12dB, which means it’s easy to find the right tone to cut through a mix or boost a lead section. There is also a master volume dial and a low battery indicator.

Playing live, recording at home or in a professional studio, the Lindo Feeling will inspire you to create those warm acoustic tones.

Honestly the best buy I’ve done, over the past few years I’ve owned about 7 different guitars, this still does me well even after 6 months of owning and regular gig’ing with it. The action is perfect for me and the pre-amp/tuner is so convenient.

First appearances can be deceiving and no more so than with this guitar…It is light, looks and feels cheap, but it sings like a lot more expensive guitar and is very easy to play with a narrow neck and low action strings…..the in-built tuner works well and is very useful to have….If you are a beginner you couldn’t ask for a better guitar at this price.

Okay so I have come back with a review after a couple of year of owning this guitar. It’s honestly a great guitar for the price! The older it gets the nicer the sound thanks to the mahogany wood used on it. However some aspects will never compare to its more expensive rivals. I bought this guitar as a beginner and it was a great cheap option, the low action was very good as it meant less pain especially when playing bar chords or complex patterns and hammering is awesome, but I did encounter fret buzz issues and some difficulties. Changing the strings to D’addrio did help but there were still issues with certain strings. I took it to a guitar shop and there wasn’t much they could do with out compromising the low action feature by tightening the neck, which I was sad about (something you wouldn’t see in a Martin). I started playing gigs more frequently was almost always happy with the sound quality and control I had over certain aspects, I fount the sweet spot in terms of EQ to cut the mids and boost the highs and lows. As the gigs got more frequent I was constantly needing to change guitar strings, and the other day just before my gig the bridge broke, I got in touch with Lindo and they were happy to asses and fix the guitar despite the fact my warranty was over. (Thank you Lindo for the amazing gesture). I can feel the guitar coming to the end of its journey with me which makes me sad, but it’s time for a new one.

So enough babbling and here’s my conclusion, if you’re buying this for fun, go for it, if you’re starting out as a musician, it’s a great option and an amazing investment, if you’re someone that’s learning how to play; buy this product and don’t look any further! If you are past the learning hurdle, you’re determined to keep going and getting better then I’m afraid this isn’t the best option. Maybe go for a more expensive Lindo guitar (that isn’t too expensive as their prices are friendly) or try a cheaper Martin / Taylor guitar. They’re going to last you longer and you will be happier with the sound, that’s my opinion. This is a great guitar, the quality is amazing, but if you’re thinking pro, go for pro.

Just received my guitar, it sounds beautiful. After fiddling with the neck for 5 minutes it has nice low action, tunes perfectly and looks outstanding. 11/10 on quality for the price, I’m in love!

  9. lisa hales

My son is very happy with this his 2nd guitar. It is a nice guitar for the money, glad we shopped around as it was more expensive elsewhere!

Purchased this guitar for my son, he has been playing for a while on a basic guitar, so for his birthday got him this, it was a risk as I didn’t know what to get him but he was delighted with it and it sounds brilliant, the tuner is very helpful and easy to use and helpful, also the sound is a huge improvement and he is now a lot more confident as it sounds amazing! brilliant quality , brilliant guitar, brilliant price!
