Lindo Neptune V3 · Electro acoustic bass
NEPTUNE.
LOWER ORBIT.
A familiar outline.
A different point of view.
Matte black, an offset soundhole and a 30-inch scale. The Neptune brings its own character to an acoustic bass.
Designed by Lindo Guitars in Bristol, the Neptune V3 pairs a spruce laminate top with sapele back and sides. Its dark finish draws attention to the shape: a rounded acoustic body, a cutaway at the neck and a soundhole placed away from the centre.
Across that outline, smaller details give the instrument its identity. There is a mother-of-pearl Planet Core inlay at the 12th fret, luminous markers along the side of the neck and a four-band F-4T preamp for amplified playing. A premium hard case is included.

01 · Shape and construction
A dark outline.
A shorter scale.
The 30-inch scale is the starting point for the Neptune’s playing dimensions. It sits alongside a slim C-shaped mahogany neck, 20 frets and a 42 mm ABS nut. The cutaway opens the body beside the upper end of the fretboard.
The top is spruce laminate, with sapele used for the back and sides. Both the fretboard and bridge are composite wood with an ebony effect, keeping the playing surface and bridge visually connected to the matte-black body and neck.

02 · Inside the outline
An opening off-centre.
Detail within.
The Neptune’s soundhole is placed towards the upper side of the body, leaving a broad area of black spruce laminate below the strings. Its position is one of the most recognisable details of the design.
Look through the opening and the internal bracing comes into view. The braces have laser-cut hollow sections, removing material from within the brace itself. The close-up photograph lets you see that construction rather than leaving it hidden behind the top.
The body is 100 mm deep, with the bridge set into the uninterrupted lower portion of the soundboard. Together, those details give the Neptune its distinctive arrangement of curves, open space and dark surfaces.
03 · Points of light
A planet on the board.
Light along the edge.
The Planet Core inlay brings a small circle of mother of pearl to the 12th fret. Against the ebony-effect composite board, its pale pattern provides a clear visual focal point within the otherwise dark instrument.
Along the side of the neck, Luminlay dots provide a separate set of luminous position markers. They can be charged with a phone light or torch. These side markers and the fretboard inlay have different jobs, with each placed where it can be seen from its own angle.

A quieter guide.
The luminous side dots follow the neck’s edge, while the larger inlay sits on the playing surface. The photograph shows the markers in darker surroundings, making the contrast easy to see.
The bass is fitted with phosphor bronze strings. Their listed gauges are 105, 85, 65 and 45, running from the lowest to the highest string.

04 · The tuning end
Shaped in black.
Finished in chrome.
The headstock carries the Neptune’s angular outline to the end of the neck. Four chrome-finished die-cast machine heads sit around its dark face, with a 19:1 gear ratio for tuning adjustment.
The front and rear photographs show the same assembly from both sides: the string paths and truss-rod cover at the front, then the enclosed tuning mechanisms and Lindo marking at the rear. It is a practical detail with a clear place in the instrument’s appearance.
05 · Tune, shape and connect
Four bands.
Two ways out.
An under-saddle piezoelectric pickup feeds the onboard F-4T Bass preamp. Its four EQ controls are bass, middle, treble and presence, with a separate master volume control for the amplified signal.
The integrated chromatic tuner uses a backlit LCD and LED note indicators. A low-battery indicator sits alongside the controls. At the output panel, a quarter-inch jack and balanced XLR provide connections for an amplifier, mixing desk or audio interface.

A closer look
around the instrument.
The feature illustration gathers the main fittings into one view, from the headstock and fretboard markers to the bridge and output panel. Open it at full size to explore the smaller labels.
The truss-rod access is at the headstock. The bridge uses four large pins, while the off-centre fretboard markers and Planet Core inlay continue the Neptune’s visual language along the neck.
